Most previews get textured hair wrong.
They smooth coils into glossy ringlets, or lighten the skin along with the hair. We measured that rather than assuming it: 72 renders across twelve subjects spanning loose waves through tight coils and locs, each scored on whether the colour registered, the curl pattern survived, the skin tone held, and the framing stayed put.
Two findings changed the product. Clean photos passed every check. Dim and blurry ones did not — on those the model invented curl texture it could not see, and invented the glossy kind. So the app now checks your photo before spending a render on it, and says when a brighter one would preview more accurately.

What it will not tell you
A visual direction, not an outcome.
- It cannot account for dye, bleach, toner, hair history, or how colour is applied.
- It will not tell you which product to buy, or what will happen on your hair.
- A preview is a picture of a possibility. Your hairdresser is still the one who knows.
Where your photo goes
Your photo goes to our server, which passes it to Google's image model and returns the preview. We delete our copy within 24 hours. Google keeps a copy for up to 55 days for its own misuse checks — that is Google's policy, we cannot shorten it, and Google gives us no receipt proving deletion.
We use Google's paid tier, where their terms say your photo is not used to train their models. If 55 days is not acceptable to you, do not send a photo. Read the full policy.
